About Blacksmithing

• Blacksmithing belongs to the group of crafting professions.
• To practice the profession you need a blacksmith’s hammer, an anvil (with Thermal Anvil also available as a portable variant) and sometimes items sold by NPCs around or directly from the blacksmith’s teachers. The prerequisites for crafting the item are always displayed with the item crafting costs.
• Blacksmiths mainly need ores (bars) processed by mining scholars to make their items. In order not to have to buy these ingots for your work in the auction house, it is advisable to learn the collecting profession Mining as a second profession.

• Blacksmiths make a variety of armor and weapons of different types, which usually sell well in the auction house.
• Opening locks and lockboxes is also possible with the blacksmith’s lock picks.
• Lightforged Draenei have a +10 bonus to blacksmithing due to their Racial Forge of Light. This means that recipes stay orange 10 points longer, which can save materials and thus gold in many cases.

Learning Draenor Blacksmithing

To learn Draenor Blacksmithing you need Draenor Blacksmithing. There are 3 ways to get your hands on it:

• Buy it in Ashran. Alliance Players get it from  Royce Bigbeard in Stormshield, Horde Players from  Nonn Threeratchet in Warspear.
• If you built a corresponding profession building in your garrison, you will get the scroll from one of the NPCs.
• If you are still leveling, you can loot a quest item that starts a quest line that rewards you with the scroll.
  
   Alliance players loot Haephest’s Satchel from Draenor enemies or Karnoth during the quest Shadows Awaken.  Horde players loot Fractured Forge Hammer from Draenor enemies or Dorogg the Ruthless during the quest The Butcher of Bladespire. The quest chain rewards you with the scroll.
